The relation between love failure and alcoholism in Tamil films needs no introduction. We have seen ‘heroes’ letting their frustration out by drinking and abusing women in several films. In Avalukkenna Azhagiya Mugam, too, alcohol plays a vital role. But here, the male leads, do not utter sexist dialogues or blame women for their bad luck.
